Trip Overview:
From Lusaka, you will have a short flight to Mfuwe in the South Luangwa National Park. On arrival, you will be transferred to your Stay of Distinction Lodge, the Chinzombo Camp for a 3 night stay. All rooms have a private pool, cooled sleeping areas, spacious bathrooms and Wi-Fi. In the shade of gigantic, ancient evergreen shade, the 60 acre riverside location teems with wildlife and offers all rooms fantastic views of the Luangwa River.
The Park hosts a wide variety of wildlife, birds and vegetation. The changing seasons add to the Park’s richness, ranging from; dry, bare bushveld in the winter, to a lush, green wonderland in the summer months. There are 60 different animal species and over 400 different bird species to be found in the South Luangwa National Park.
During your stay at the camp, you will enjoy several game drives into the park. After your stay, you will fly back to Lusaka.

Day 1: Lusaka to Luangwa National Park

Day 2: On Safari in Luangwa National Park
Begin your safari adventure with a game drive through Luangwa National Park, exploring its riverbanks, woodlands and open plains. Accompanied by an experienced guide, search for elephants, giraffes, zebras and antelopes, along with the lions and leopards that inhabit this remarkable wilderness. Along the Luangwa River, watch for hippos gathered in the water and crocodiles resting along the shore. The park is also home to abundant birdlife, adding flashes of colour to the surrounding bush. Between sightings, take time to appreciate the landscape and learn about the delicate relationships between its wildlife and diverse habitats. As the day unfolds, each turn may reveal another memorable encounter in one of Zambia’s most celebrated safari destinations.
Day 3: On Safari in Luangwa National Park
Return to the wilderness for another day of wildlife viewing, following different trails through Luangwa National Park. No two game drives are the same, and today brings fresh opportunities to observe the park’s animals and landscapes. Look for herds of elephants moving through the bush, graceful giraffes feeding among the trees and antelopes gathering across the plains. Your guide will interpret tracks, calls and other signs of wildlife while searching for elusive predators such as lions and leopards. Pause along the Luangwa River, where hippos, crocodiles and waterbirds create a lively natural spectacle. With time to explore at an unhurried pace, enjoy a deeper appreciation of the park’s ecosystems and another rewarding day immersed in the African wilderness.
