Trip Overview:

Alaska in winter offers a quiet kind of magic - one where the snow-draped wilderness and starlit skies take centre stage. This 6-night journey begins in Anchorage, where you board the iconic Alaska Railroad’s Aurora Winter Train, gliding through hushed forests and frozen valleys en route to Fairbanks. Along the way, vast landscapes unfold in slow motion, giving you time to soak in the solitude of the Last Frontier.

Based in Fairbanks for five nights, your adventure centres around one of nature’s most elusive wonders: the aurora borealis. Join a guided expedition to the Arctic Circle, where the Northern Lights shimmer above remote tundra. Soak in the geothermal warmth of Chena Hot Springs, explore the surreal Ice Museum, and spend several evenings chasing the aurora under Alaska’s immense skies.

Between these after-dark pursuits, tailor your days to suit your style. You might explore Fairbanks’ heritage on a city tour, mush your own dog team across the snow, try your hand at ice fishing, or head out for another Northern Lights excursion.

This is not just a winter getaway - it’s a deep dive into the wild soul of Alaska. From its steaming hot springs to the silent glow of the aurora, every moment invites you to slow down and truly experience the North.
