Alaskan Cruise, 7 days, September 2024

September

Pros: Cruise staff throughout (Dining, Stateroom, Entertainment, General), Entertainment & Activities

Cons: Size of interior stateroom

Recommended: Yes

We have taken Princess Cruises before and knew that service and experience would be topnotch, and we were not disappointed! We were well-taken care of, especially by our stateroom steward and all those on the dining staff we encountered. Most were Filipino, and they have always been friendly, helpful and engaging. Those in Photography, Cruise Staff and special entertainment guests we encountered were such a pleasure to meet and talk with as well. We were on a budget and were booked in an inside stateroom. We are older now (in our mid-50's) and we found that an inside stateroom is no longer comfortable for us. For our next cruise, we will likely budget for a stateroom the next level up.

Alaska in September

September

Pros: Entertaining

Cons: Limited

Recommended: Yes

Alaska is beautiful in September, and the weather was so nice! This is not a cruise to see the large glaciers from the ship like I had hoped. There is a glacier view in the itinerary, and the color of the water there was breath taking, however the glacier view is limited from the ship, and it was a bit disappointing. In general, the cruise was very enjoyable. Accolades to Harrison, a server at the Vino bar, was awesome!! He checked on us constantly, learned our drink preferences and was a 10 out of 10! Thank you for making our cruise more enjoyable! I cannot say the same for the service staff at the Piazza bar. The Cruise Director was fabulous!and so fun! There was fun/enjoyable activities and entertainment of some sort midship most of the time. The food was delicious! I did think that charging extra for a nice cut of beef in the Main Dining Rooms seemed a bit chintzy though. That said, there was a nice variety of entrees to choose from, and all were beautifully prepared. Our room attendant was very accommodating and met our every need. Our room was made up daily and fresh linens provided when needed. We had coffee served in our room every morning and they delivered like clockwork - Thank you! All in all, it was a great cruise that I would recommend to friends and family. The boarding process in Seattle was relatively easy, however it did involve asking staff members for direction. Each port process is different so it’s possible that Princess has no say in their operation. I would recommend getting there relatively early to avoid long lines. Our friends arrived 30 minutes after us, and it took them and additional hour to board. The Princess ap is a bit frustrating to use. It was challenging to navigate as there are only 4 tabs for direction, and a lot of guessing which one lead to what. It would be nice to have a more detailed menu with sub-services for each tab. It would also be nice to include a link for the latest “health and safety” guidelines due to Covid, (if possible)? Also, it would help to identify the “Formal Nights” in the ship’s itinerary for cruisers to be prepared.

Alaska Cruise

September

Pros:

Cons:

Recommended: No

It's nice having the medallion and the Princess App but I kept getting kicked out of the App. Had to keep logging in back in to be able to track my shipmates which was a hassle. Also, not much information on the App or the website during and before the cruise. It was nice to see the Folio charges on the App during the cruise but then FOLIO disappeared immediately after the cruise. Couldn't see the itemized charges after that. The food was fantastic, but the dining area was tug of war to find an available table. Entertainment was mediocre. Trivia sessions were not really trivia. Service was fantastic as well, very friendly staff.

It was a Majestic time!

August

Pros: Entertainment staff, Dining staff, and ports

Cons: Too short!

Recommended: Yes

We had a fabulous trip. This was my husbands first cruise and he was hesitant! We had a fabulous time. Medallion service was easy, we had a balcony mini suite (highly recommend). Entertainment crew were all funny & awesome! Never met an unfriendly staff member. We went to Alaska cruisetour. Ports were amazing. Weather was what it is in Alaska some rainy days, very cold on glacier days even in August! The game shows were our favorite entertainment. food was excellent. We loved our staff at Concerto Dining room. Our room steward on Aloha deck very kind. Luggage was handled perfectly every step! Great cruise, staff & wonderful experience!

Beautiful Alaska

August

Pros: Many events to take part in

Cons: very crowded

Recommended: Yes

The dining was good but not as good as I would have expected for this type of cruise. A coffee pot in the rooms would be great. When we ordered coffee from room service it arrived warm, not hot. Tried several different days, same result. Princess was very good at helping everyone get to their next event or leg or their journey. Very organized. Loved that!

Great ship for the average traveler

July

Pros: Lots of activities, comfortable cabins, balconies offer amazing views

Cons: Food is bland and cold on buffets, women tend to be seated in less desirable areas of restaurants if not travelling with a male, cabin stewards hard to find, no adults only pool as advertised, not many indoor areas to take in the sights

Recommended: Yes

The Majestic was a çomfortable, ship. The food offered was subpar what I expected. It was impossible to find food beyond 9:00 @ night. I was disappointed that there was no adults only pool as advertised. There are lots of activities to do on the ship, although the talent was moderate at best. The cabins were comfortable and the balconies provided an amazing view of the beautiful landscape.
