Cruise review on RSSC Explorer
October
Pros: Ratio of crew to passengers is great, large walk-in closet with lots of storage, etc
Cons: Ship is showing its age....rusty in areas around the outside of ship, in shower. The wifi could improve
Recommended: Yes
WiFi needs improvement. I was doing my final survey and got cut off and had difficulty returning to finish the survey before the deadline. The staff at the restaurants were very professional and friendly and responded quickly to our needs. To name a few: Novie, Aprillyn, Meldin, Raymark, Reedel, Hanna, Arjay, Leilani Most of the excursions did not allow enough time to purchase souvenirs, snacks, etc. Also, the excursions should be occasionally revised because for repeat clients, it sometimes boring since we've been in them before. We also noticed that Regent is now going to northern japan, which is great!!! We loved the backstage tour, and it would be nice to be able to tour other areas of the ship as well. (Bridge, laundry area, etc)

May
Pros: Great crew, excellent food, excellent service, spacious staterooms, laundry service is the best
Cons:
Recommended: Yes
Free laundry service is the best ever! Crew was very friendly and awesome! Very polite and always smiling! Love that Krew Kapers was a little different. A couple of the other shows were just mediocre. We stayed in the Explorer Suite for the first time and noticed that the suite is showing its age; sofa, carpeting, shower for example. The walk-in closet seemed smaller than the concierge suite walk-in? Again, we didn't do our survey at the end of the cruise because internet connection was very slow. I think by going back to the paper version, you'll get more feedback . Most passengers we asked didn't do the survey due to the internet connection.

Best cruise ever!
April
Pros: Food, service, itinerary
Cons: Coffee could be better
Recommended: Yes
Truly the best cruise we’ve been on. The food was superb and the service was outstanding. Loved the all-inclusiveness of Regent Seven Seas. Also loved the included business class air, especially flying to Tokyo. The pre-cruise hotel stay and tours were perfect to help us adjust to the Tokyo time zone. No doubt Regent is a premium cruise line.

February
Pros: It is truly all inclusive, so there are no surprise charges unless you decide to go on a private tour, for example
Cons: It' s hard to find something wrong with all inclusive luxury. But I will say that the internet was slow which bothered a lot of people.

Regent Seven Seas Explorer
October
Pros: Excellent overall value
Cons: Shore Excursions are lacking
Recommended: No
The Seven Seas Explorer offers three specialty restaurants that are exquisite: Prime Seven which offers steaks, Pacific Rim which offers Asian Fusion, and Chartreuse which offers nouveaux French. The service and food quality is over the top.

Japan cruise, 2023
October
Pros: service, food, room, itinerary, guest speaker, evening shows, laundry service
Cons: wine selection, tours, evening shows
Recommended: No
The ship was clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, the speaker was informative and interactive, the shows were very entertaining and the laundry service was a valuable asset. Some things Regency could improve is the wine selection. The cruise provides access to pretty much a full bar, but the selection of wines only include a couple that are of a high enough quality to drink. Many of the offerings, to me, were not enjoyable. The evening shows were very good, but they started at 9:30 pm. They ended very late, especially if you had a morning excursion. Suggest a 8:30 pm or maybe even a 9:00 pm start. The tour guides fell short, especially when there was a 1 hr or 1-1/2 hr drive to your destination. Limited information, limited ability to communicate in understandable english. Most of the destinations had printed material once you arrived that would have been very helpful and useful if distributed to the passengers on the bus during the drive out from the ship. Also, the tour guides did not use "whispers" to communicate when on tour, so if you weren't standing next to the guide, you had no idea what they were saying. You were pretty much dropped off and left to figure out everything on your own. One exception, our particular tour guide in S. Korea (Helena) was EXCELLENT.

Regent Experience
September
Pros: Ship is elegant and beautiful throughout
Cons: Food was inconsistent and shore excursions not well planned for the demographic of the ship's passengers.
Recommended: Yes
The description of the excursions that was presented on-line was wrong and not correctly described by on-board staff to make it clear just how difficult some of the excursions were. Cooking classes were exceptional. Breakfast food portions in the main dining room were very small and the service was inconsistent. Best restaurant was Chartreuse where food was excellent, and service was outstanding.
